Description

The Bernabéu-Tarrach sum rule, which could potentially provide an additional data-driven constraint on nucleon electric polarizabilities, will be discussed. Moreover, its convergence implies a sum rule for the unknown subtraction function in the two-photon exchange contribution to the Lamb shift. The verification of these sum rules using covariant chiral perturbation theory and the naïve parton model will be provided.
